Privacy Policy
Effective: 19 November 2025
This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through pioneerunionmaldives.com (this "Site"), and when you contact us or enquire about our services.
1. Who we are
PioneerUnion Maldives Real Estate Development Investment and Development Private Limited
Registered in the Republic of Maldives on 19 November 2025 · Registration no. C34362025
Contact: career@pioneerunionmaldives.com
Our registered office details are available on request from the contact address above.
We are the Maldives chapter of the PioneerUnion Group, whose parent company is PioneerUnion Group Global Holdings Pte. Ltd. (Singapore). We are responsible for the information we collect through this Site.
2. The legal position in the Maldives — stated plainly
As at the effective date of this policy, the Maldives does not have a general personal data protection statute in force. A Personal Data Protection Bill is pending.
We have not treated that as permission to do less. This policy applies the principles that Bill is built on — lawful and fair collection, purpose limitation, data minimisation, accuracy, storage limitation, security, and individual access — as our own standard, together with the standards our Singapore parent is held to. When Maldivian law is enacted, we will review this policy against it and publish the updated version.
3. What we collect
When you enquire or request a quotation. Name, contact details, the organisation you represent if any, the service you are asking about, the island or atoll your project relates to, and whatever else you choose to tell us.
When you become a client. We collect more, through our Client Intake Form (PNU-MAL-FRM-CIS-001), which carries its own privacy notice explaining exactly what and why. This Site policy covers the website; the intake form notice covers the engagement.
Automatically. Technical data needed to deliver and protect the Site: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, and timestamps. Handled by our hosting and security provider.
Location handling. Where you tell us an island or atoll, we store it as a reference to the official geographic registry — a join key — not as a description of where you personally live or move. We do not collect precise device location from this Site.
4. What we never collect
We do not collect, and ask you not to send us:
- political affiliation or opinions;
- religious belief or affiliation;
- biometric identifiers;
- health or medical information — except where you are engaging our Healthcare Access pillar services, in which case a separate consent and a separate, isolated handling regime applies, and it is explained to you at the point of collection;
- payment card numbers through website forms.
If you send us any of this unprompted through the Site, we will delete it rather than file it.
5. Why we use it
- To answer your enquiry, prepare a quotation, and arrange a site visit or meeting.
- To deliver the services you engage us for, and to administer the relationship.
- To meet our obligations under Maldivian law — including tax, employment, construction, licensing, customs and safety obligations — and to respond to lawful requests from Maldivian authorities.
- To keep the Site running, secure and improving.
- To establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising profiling. We do not send marketing messages to enquiry contacts unless they have separately opted in.
6. Who sees it
- Our own staff, on a need-to-know basis. Access to our internal systems is tiered by role, and information relating to healthcare services is held in an isolated zone with separate access control.
- Contractors and suppliers engaged on your project, where they need the information to do the work — for example a delivery address, or a site contact's phone number.
- PioneerUnion Group entities, where a matter needs group-level input, or where a shared service (such as group finance or legal) is involved.
- Professional advisers, auditors, insurers, banks and regulators, where required or permitted.
- Maldivian authorities, where we are legally required to disclose.
We require anyone handling information on our behalf to protect it and to use it only for the purpose we gave it to them for.
7. Where it goes
Some of our systems, and some of our group's shared services, are hosted or administered outside the Maldives, including in Singapore. Your information may therefore be processed there.
Where that happens, we impose contractual obligations requiring a standard of protection comparable to the one described in this policy. You may ask us which systems are involved for a particular matter.
8. How long we keep it
| Category | Retention |
|---|---|
| Website enquiries that do not become engagements | 24 months from last contact |
| Client records for completed engagements | As set out in the Client Intake Form privacy notice, and as required by Maldivian tax, construction and licensing law |
| Server and security logs | 90 days |
| Records subject to a legal hold or an active dispute | Until the hold or dispute ends |
9. Your choices
You may ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete information we no longer have a reason to keep;
- stop using your details for any purpose you previously agreed to.
Write to career@pioneerunionmaldives.com. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify who you are first. We may have to keep some records even after a deletion request — for example where tax, construction, or safety law requires it — and if so we will tell you which records and why.
Because no Maldivian statutory regulator for personal data exists yet, there is currently no external authority to escalate a complaint to within the Maldives. That is a real gap, and we would rather say so than imply a protection that does not exist. In the meantime, an unresolved complaint can be escalated within the group to career@pioneerunionmaldives.com.
10. Security
Transport encryption across the Site, role-based access control internally, an isolated zone for health-related information, and staff bound by confidentiality obligations. No system is perfectly secure; please do not send sensitive information through website forms.
11. Children
This Site is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 through it. Where a service involves a household, we deal with the adult account holder.
12. Changes
We will update this policy as our services and the law develop. The effective date at the head of the page shows the current version.
